Early Summer Family Package: Visit us in May or June for the deal of the summer: Great reduced rate for 2 adults, no charge for up to 3 children 12 and under—family-style dinner and breakfast included with each night of your stay. If you visit between June 15-and June 26th, your kids can enroll in our nature camps (see additional tuition rates below). Nightly rate for two adults accompanied by up to 3 children: $295, includes service charge and use of our private beach and tennis court, and $25 gift certificate to a bona fide historic general store: Willey’s Store in the village. This package is also available June 1 to 15th, but no children’s programming is available.
Women’s Summer Getaway Packages: This special is available for groups of 5 or more. Gather some girlfriends and join us for two nights’ lodging. We’ll provide 2 fabulous candle-lit family-style dinners for your group, two sumptuous family-style breakfasts, a $10 gift certificate per person for shopping at the marvelous Willey’s store in the village—walk, drive, bike, or paddle there! Also included is use of our private beach with rowboats, pedalboats, canoes and kayaks, and our clay tennis court. Use our “back road bikes” at no additional charge-- available on a first-come first-serve basis. This package is $265 per person and there’s a great incentive for your organizer—she stays free! Cannot be combined with other discounts. Available late May, June, and August 22 to October 12.
Reunion Package for groups of 10 or more: Highland Lodge is the perfect setting for reunions! This summer or fall, bring a group of 10 or more people –family, school friends, bicycling buddies, nature lovers, book groups—you get the idea! Available in June, or after August 22. $106 per person/night includes family-style dinner and breakfast, service charge, use of private beach and tennis court, wireless in the Inn, and morning play program for children age 4 to 9 (when in season). Two-night minimum stay for Friday or Saturday nights. Children’s rates available, 10-adult minimum required.
June and August “Vermonters Special” Circus Smirkus Packages: The Circus is here twice a year! Twenty-two years ago Circus Smirkus was founded by our neighbor Rob Mermin in an old-farm house down the road. Now a nationally-acclaimed traveling children’s acrobatic circus, Circus Smirkus begins and ends its annual New England summer tour in a Big Top 2 miles from us. Choose the opening show on Sunday, June 28 or the grand finale of the tour on Saturday August 15th and Sunday, August 16th. Your rate includes your lodging in a room in our inn, a box supper to take to the evening show, or family-style dinner here if you attend the afternoon matinee; full breakfast the following morning is also included. While you’re here enjoy our lovely private beach on Caspian Lake, our clay tennis court, and your kids 4-9 can join our morning play program.
Package includes 2 adult tickets and 2 kids’ tickets to the show of your choice. Reserve by June 14 for June show or by August 1st for August shows.
June Package: $365 for a family of four ($50 for each additional child)
August Package: $395 for a family of 4. ($50 for each additional child) Add a night on either side or your Circus Stay at the same great rate. This package is available to Vermont residents only, and cannot be combined with other specials or discounts.
Thursday Ski Inns continue this summer—same venue, different activity! Some days it will be a paddle, some days a hike, other days a swim or paddle. The point is getting together outside, every Thursday, like we did all winter. Meet at the Lodge at 10 AM for group outing, return at noon for a fantastic lunch deal. Begins Thursday, June 4 and continues through October 8.

Nature Camps for June and July 2009
June 1619th (TuesFri) Critters and Communities Camp for 34 yearolds Join us for a fun introductory camp that focuses on the discovery of four natural communities at Highland Lodge: the pine forest, the meadow, the swamp, and the lake, with animal friends (puppets) leaving clues for us each day! We'll also learn how to use our senses to explore nature! Songs and daily craft activities are part of each day. From 911:30 AM.
Tuition: $90 ($65 Early Bird Special)
June 1519th (MonFri) Habitat Camp for 4-8 year-olds: In this camp we'll meet animal puppets daily and explore different types of homes made and used by animals, and the natural settings in which they're found. We'll also experiment by making our own nests, lodges, and shelters. Games and songs will be part of each day. From 1-3:30 PM.
Tuition $95 ($70 Early Bird Special)
June 2226th (MonFri) Conservation and Outdoor Survival Skills Camp for 1013 yearolds: AThis camp will combine teachings and practice of nature observation, survival skills like fire making and shelter building, cordage making, and map & compass skills. Camp will also include journaling, "Magic Spots," introductions to famous conservationists, and a Muir Trek exploration. By the end of the week we'll be ready to work in teams on a simulated wilderness survival challenge. This camp will meet on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 PM for an overnight campout, and the camp will end at 3:30 PM on Friday.
Tuition: $180 includes overnight camp and cookout. ($155 Early Bird Special) 9AM-3:30 PM Mon., Tues. and Weds., plus overnight camp-out on Thursday through 3:30 PM Friday.
June 29thJuly 3rd (MonFri) All About Animals Camp for 4-9 year olds: : Come explore the world of birds, insects, mammals, herps, and this year's newest additionfish! Puppets and some live critters make this camp extra exciting! From 9-11:30 AM.

July 6th10th (MonFri) Habitat Camp for 59 yearolds. See description and tuition above. From 9-11:30 AM.
July 13th16th (MonThurs) Nature in a Nutshell for 4-7 year-olds: A "sampler" with hands-on learning about animals, plants, and homes and using crafts, puppetry, and sensory skills! We'll use what we learn to guide us on the last day's magical discovery tour! From 9 to 11:30 AM.

July 2024th (MonFri) Nature Quest for 7-10 year-olds: Amazing hands-on discoveries await us each day as we explore the miracles of food chains, adaptations, and finally, a celebration of the web of life. Prepare to roll up your sleeves to grub and muck around! From 1 to 4 PM.

Memorial Day Weekend: Vermont Open Studios Event:

September Quilting Workshop: Quilt-Inn--Join quilter and author Judy B. Dales for top-notch instruction, good company, great food, and gorgeous quilts at Quilt Inn 2009. The next Quilt Inn Seminar will be held here again Friday, September 11 to Wednesday, September 16, 2009 . Quilt Inn includes all meals, workshop, tax, service. QI is a wonderful opportunity to get inspired by your co-students' creativity, and instruction from one of the country's most accomplished quilters. Single occupancy $885.50, double occupancy 858.00. Please Note, although we have a beautiful private beach on Caspian Lake, we do not have lakeside accommodations. Our beach and boathouse are a short walk (crossing the road and following the path through our woods), from our Lodge and cottages.
