Ski Burke Mountain

Thanks to modern snowmaking capabilities (and a little help from Mother Nature) Burke Mountain opened early for the season--the earliest opening in years. At Burke Mountain, enjoy some of the finest ski slopes and trails in the area; hone your skills at the Burke Mountain Academy with a knowledgeable and experienced instructor, or put your skis to the test on the steep, ungroomed slope named Doug’s Drop. However, you go about doing it, skiing and snowboarding at Burke Mountain will be unforgettable.

If you’re unfamiliar with the mountain, Burke features a 2,000 ft vertical drop from its 3,267 ft summit elevation. Fifty-five runs decorate the steep slopes for 260 acres of skiable terrain. Add in the annual average snowfall in Vermont, 76 inches, and you’ve got yourself a snow day!

Experienced skiers and snowboarders can head up to the Upper Mountain which contains all intermediate and advanced difficulty trails. Seasoned veterans of winter sports can take on Scooby Doo, Fox’s Folly, Dixieland, and The Jungle.

Just starting out or curious about all the skiing buzz up here? No worries. Stick to the Lower Mountain section of the resort and the Bunny Slope. There’s also a beginner’s glade skiing park, the Enchanted Forest. Don’t worry; with the proper instruction at Burke Mountain Academy and a little time (we’ll see you next year?) you’ll be tackling Doug’s Drop before you know it.
