Craftsbury Outdoor Center’s Nordic Ski Trails

Devoted to our tradition of lodging cross-country skiers during their winter adventures, the Highland Lodge is just steps away (literally!) from some of the most enjoyable Nordic trails in the country. The Greensboro trails, groomed and maintained by the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, run between the villages of Greensboro and Craftsbury. Conveniently nestled on a hilltop between the two, Highland Lodge offers easy access to the trails and is a warm place to cozy up by the fire, grab a drink at our twelve-stool bar, or order some hot eats from our pub menu.

The Craftsbury Outdoor Center, just a short drive to the north, also offers lessons taught by knowledgeable instructors. Whether you’re standing up for the first time or training for a race, the experienced staff will make your lesson fun and enjoyable. Book a private lesson for two for just $60. Didn’t bring your gear? That’s ok! Craftsbury Outdoor Center also has rental equipment available for low rates and the ski shop has more than a hundred sets of high performance skis for sale as well as poles, bindings, waxes, tools, hats and other clothing.

On February 2nd and 3rd, the Craftsbury Outdoor Center hosts the Craftsbury Marathon Ski Festival, sponsored by Fischer Sports. As the largest Nordic ski event in the east, the classic marathon consists of 25k and 50k skiing through some of the most scenic terrain in New England and brings over 1000 competitors!
