The Northeast Kingdom has some truly unique ways to experience our rivers, lakes, and ponds Take a moonlit canoe or kayak trip on a night with plenty of bright moonlight to see the beauty of the mountains and forest reflected on the water’s surface. For the brave and experienced paddler, you will find that the Northeast Kingdom’s rivers offer whitewater excitement during high water that will satisfy anyone looking for an adrenaline rush.

Clyde River Recreation offers river trips and rentals of kayaks, canoes, and small boats less than an hour away from the Highland Lodge. You can also book a delivery of a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard to Lake Willoughby nearby. Paddle trips are a self-guided trip into the wilderness with friends, family members, or a special someone that provides an excellent and unique way to bond. The most popular paddle trip is a 5.5 mile paddle great for all skill levels and shuttles run from 8AM to three hours before sunset. Tickets are just $21.20 per person and include shuttle, canoes or kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and taxes.
