Open Studio Weekend at the Vermont Crafts Council

Vermont’s spring Open Studio Weekend, May 25-26th, is a unique opportunity for visitors to get an inside look at some of the Northeast Kingdom’s most talented artists and the interesting processes that are used to create a work of art. Browse the latest wares available for purchase or take advantage of the opportunity to speak with the artist directly.

The best thing about Open Studio Weekend, though, is that you can plan your own tour! Select from the studios or artists you know and love or pick according to your medium like woodworking, watercolors, or jewelry. If you’re restricted on time, look for a cluster of studios in a small area and try to hit as many as you can. If you've shopped an artist’s wares before, or have heard of an artist from afar, then seek out their workplace. Watching a familiar artist work and talking with them can be a memorable and even life-changing experience. Another fun way to experience Open Studio Weekend is to seek out artists who are new to you; explore forms of art that you know nothing about and learn something totally unknown.

If you’re not up for planning your own Open Studio tour, or you don’t know where to start, the guide will be your best companion. Look for the Vermont Open Studio guides at our rest stops, tourist information areas, and galleries all across the state.
